Rental terms
Read the terms for your booking. The final price and refundable deposit are shown separately before payment.
Total price and delivery
Minimum equipment order: €10 (final price), excluding delivery and deposit. Orders below this cannot be paid; no top-up fee is added. Final REPEP IGIC-exempt price and separate deposit shown before payment. Free pickup and return at Puerto Fantasy. Tenerife transport: €35, delivery and collection included, Monday–Friday by 19:00 with no fixed time. Be present or authorise reception. Minimum online booking notice: 48 hours. No unapproved extras. All equipment is subject to availability; unavailable items are refunded. Agreed manual orders created less than 48 h before collection: one urgent handling fee per order, €15.00 (final price), shown before payment. Except public holidays.
Deposit
All rented equipment must be returned, including the thermal blanket, first-aid kit, poncho and delivery bags. Please return everything complete, clean, dry and neatly packed in the same bags, also clean and in good condition. The deposit starts at €50 and increases with the quantity and value of equipment booked. The exact amount is shown before payment, separate from rental and outside the taxable base. For now it is charged with the booking, not held on the card. Return all equipment complete, clean, dry and orderly as received; remove rubbish and personal effects, leaving only rented items in the backpack. Normal wear and ordinary cleaning are included. Only necessary, reasonable and documented loss, damage or extraordinary cleaning costs may be deducted with an itemised explanation; dirt does not automatically forfeit the whole deposit. We will initiate the balance refund to the original payment method within 7 calendar days after receipt and inspection. Once initiated, the credit follows Stripe’s estimated processing times and your bank’s times, which Tenerife Ready does not control. We explain incidents and allow objections. The deposit does not cap proven liability or authorise further charges without consent or a legal basis.
Cancellation and withdrawal
New bookings: request cancellation by email with your reference, at least 72 hours before the start of the collection window, for a justified and verifiable reason to receive a full refund. With less notice, rental refunds are not guaranteed. The deposit and unperformed transport are refunded. Your statutory rights remain. The deadline uses Canary Islands time and the start of the booked window, not a timed appointment. Late requests are assessed according to circumstances and reasonable documented costs; no automatic disproportionate penalties apply. Earlier bookings and quotations keep the terms communicated to them. Refunds go to the original payment method; bank credits follow Stripe’s and your bank’s processing times.
Use and safety
Follow manufacturer instructions and intended use. Do not modify equipment or transfer it to people outside the booking. Check quantity, fit, function and condition on receipt; report defects before use and stop if a fault appears. Hidden-defect rights remain. Protect against loss/theft and provide correct contact details. Rental includes no permits, guide or rescue insurance and guarantees no trail opening. Tenerife Ready’s statutory liability for its own defects or failures is not excluded. If you rent a headlamp, you must bring spare AAA batteries. This is the customer’s responsibility.
Damage, loss and replacement value
For loss or damage attributable to the renter, use reasonable repair or equivalent replacement. Verified current retail price is a reference adjusted for age, use and depreciation, not automatic new-for-old. No duplicate repair/replacement recovery or arbitrary percentage penalties. We communicate inventory, evidence and quotation and refund the unaffected deposit balance. No larger card charge without specific authorisation or legal basis.
Hours, delays and changes
Agree handover within published hours. Notify anticipated delays. Extensions need agreement and availability and use the same published scale without repeating the initial tariff. Retaining equipment is not implicitly authorised and no disproportionate automatic penalty applies. Address or equipment changes are priced before acceptance. Puerto Fantasy is a pickup partner, not the rental provider.
Technical equipment and sleeping bag
Technical equipment requires training and experience. Use it only within the manufacturer’s limits and check fit and footwear compatibility. Rental includes no training, guide or rescue insurance and guarantees no trail access. The customer is responsible for injury to themselves or others, or damage to equipment, attributable to their misuse, negligence or failure to follow instructions. Do not use equipment you are not competent to use. Hiking crampons are not suitable for glaciers or steep snow couloirs. Before booking, check that the equipment type meets your route’s requirements: not all crampons are equivalent. The sleeping bag is for indoor use, not bivouacs or high-mountain cold. A fleece alone does not guarantee protection in every Teide condition.
Boots: check your EU size.
Sizes are European (EU), not UK or US. If unsure, contact us before paying. Try the boots with your hiking socks before heading out. The customer selects the size; fit can vary between models. If we supply the requested size and you need another, exchanges depend on availability and may incur actual transport costs, quoted and agreed in advance. An incorrect size supplied by us or a defect will be resolved at no cost to you. Your statutory rights remain.
Availability and changes
If an item is unavailable, you may continue renting the available items and receive a refund for what is not supplied and any deposit no longer required. If the missing item is essential to your booking, you may cancel the whole booking at no cost. If the agreed handover cannot be provided, you may accept an alternative or decline it for a refund. Equipment and prices are not changed without your agreement.
Statutory withdrawal
Where applicable to distance contracts, you have 14 calendar days from contracting to withdraw without giving a reason by emailing us; the statutory model withdrawal form is optional. If you expressly request the service to start during this period and withdraw after it starts, only the proportion actually performed is payable. The right ends after full performance only with your express request and prior acknowledgement of that consequence. This cancellation policy does not replace withdrawal or other mandatory rights. Statutory refunds are initiated without undue delay within the applicable legal deadlines.
